How To: Master Root Disk Space Full

Sometimes, in abnormal cases, zookeeper might start to take 10 gb+ disk space in root volume of master. This article will describe the steps to avoid this scenario.

How To:

Add a cron job for removing the logs:

sudo crontab -e

Append this line at the end:

0 * * * * java -cp /usr/lib/hbase/lib/zookeeper-3.4.6.jar:/usr/lib/hbase/lib/slf4j-api-1.7.7
.jar:/usr/lib/hbase/lib/slf4j-log4j12-1.7.7.jar:/usr/lib/hbase/lib/log4j-1.2.17.jar:conf org
.apache.zookeeper.server.PurgeTxnLog /tmp/hbase-root/zookeeper/ /tmp/hbase-root/zookeeper/ -n 3

It will start a cleanup at every hour mark.
